The Challenge
Market share was steadily eroding and employee morale declining with it at this company, which once owned the word processing market. Massive downsizing had not solved the problems, which were caused by a culture that avoided risk taking, discouraged conflict management and value bureaucracy above initiative.
The Solution
Wang designed a "Starting Now" strategy to address their problems, and hired Interpersonal Development to help implement it. We designed an entire training curriculum based on a needs/skill assessment conducted by 60 employees at Wang´s Phoenix office. We assisted in setting up cross-functional teams and creating a vision for the site. Finally, we continued to respond to the team´s needs for skill training with targeted training courses.
The Challenge
Build a management team for the future, which involves identifying high potential people and managing their professional development. The company identified its top two percent of performers in sales and customer service.
The Solution
A High Potential Program, designed by Interpersonal Development. The program was launched with an Advanced Communication Skills Seminar that included case studies, simulations and role plays focused on conflict management, individual communication skills, and communication skills inside of a team structure. Experimental learning methods helped performers identify links between communication skills and effective business performance.
