The Challenge
Trading Enterprises, an Al-Futtaim company, is the largest automobile importer in the United Arab Emirates. The Managing Director (MD) had built an efficient and effective organization that delivered on its owners expectations for profits. The next challenge for the MD was to position the company for the next century, to stay a step ahead of the competition, and to be a leader in fulfilling Dubai’s vision to become the “Hong Kong” of the Middle East.
The Solution
Interpersonal Development conducted a culture audit, to assess the organization culture’s readiness for its leadership role in the business community. We interviewed key managers and employees, who represented a wide range of ethnic and national backgrounds. Our report to the MD analyzed the current culture’s style and competencies, benchmarked them against the culture style and competencies of leading US companies and recommended actions to close the gaps.
